Alberta Affordability Plan

Alberta has created a one-time non-taxable grant targeted at families with children under 18 and seniors as well as some low-income and disabled individuals.

  1. Families with under $180,000 of household income with underage children can apply to receive $600 per child (under the age of 18).
  2. Seniors (aged 65 and older as of June 30, 2023) whose household income is less than $180,000 and who are not receiving Alberta Senior Benefits can apply to receive $600 per qualifying person.

 

Please note that those turning 65 Between January and June of 2023 are eligible for $100 for each month they are eligible between January and June 2023). Parents or Guardians of Children under 18 can apply additionally for each child on the same application to receive the amount for each child.

  • Anyone currently receiving monthly benefits through AISH
  • Income Support
  • Alberta Seniors Benefit or services through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) are eligible to receive $600 and will be automatically qualified without application.


Please note that an application will need to be completed to receive additional amounts for children under 18 in households who are receiving these benefits as they will not automatically be received.

Persons not meeting these conditions are ineligible to receive assistance.

Applications can be made by first signing up at https://account.alberta.ca/ and accessing the application

Amounts will be issued in $100 installments applied retroactively to the date of eligibility.

Applications are now open and will close on June 30th, 2023.
